Kate Hess has been shooting most of her life.
She started off shooting in Film,
growing up with a darkroom in her basement.
Her father, Brad Hess, is a photographer,
and she developed her first print at the age of ten.
Kate studied Theatre and Media Arts at Emerson College,
while photographing DJ's, Events, and Portraits in Boston.
She moved to NYC officially in 2009,
photographing Events & Nightlife ranging from
Hip Hop, Reggae, DJ's, Music, Spoken Word,
Theatre, Corporate Events, and others.
Kate has been on the team for Time Out New York,
shooting for the Nightlife and Events Section.
She continues to freelance for PR departments
for various corporations and organizations,
such as The Fresh Air Fund, Hospital for Special Surgery,
among others, and also shoots portraits.
Her work has been published in The New York Times,
The US News and World Report, Time Out New York, and Online Press.
